CALISTA FLOCKHART
Calista Flockhart and Jane Krakowski met in college at Rutgers University New Brunswick, New Jersey. Years later they worked together on the 1997-2002 TV show “Ally McBeal”. While attending Rutgers, Calista was allowed to perform on the main stage which normally was reserved for juniors and seniors. She graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1988. From 1989-1997, she lived in New York City where she worked as a waitress and aerobics instructor although she did receive work in television and on Broadway during this time period.
In 1997, she auditioned for the starring role in David E. Kelly’s FOX TV series “Ally McBeal”. She earned a Golden Globe Award and appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, June 1998, as the issue discussed the evolution of feminism. Her natural thin figure generated controversy as she was regarded as dangerously thin.
She is the current national spokesperson for Peace Over Violence. She continues to appear on the ABC drama series “Brothers and Sisters” which began in 2006.
